CPECC was awarded the EPC contract in May 2005, valued at USD $400 million. The plant was designed to process condensate oil from four oilfields and its products included naphtha, butane, jet kerosene, LGO and HGO. The scheduled project duration was 32 months.

CPECC Scope of Work includes:

The Condensate Project included a condensate topping plant with a capacity of 5 million t/a (LOT 1) and the corresponding tank farms and related facilities (LOT 2).

Lot 1 (the Condensate Topping Plant):

Capacity: Five million tonne per year, major units included 6 distillation columns, 54 pumps, 33 heat exchangers, eight sets of air compressors, 21 sets of pressure vessels, 6 sets of filtrations, 3 sets of heating furnaces, instrument air and nitrogen compressor.

LOT 2:

Capacity and major works: Installation of 5 X 60,000m3 storage tanks, 3 X 3,000m3 LPG spherical tanks, nine sets of pumps, 7 kilometres of 26” pipeline and another 7 kilometres of 36” pipeline.

Major units included:

  • Atmospheric distillation unit
  • Naphtha stabilisation unit
  • Butane desiccation unit
  • Unit for purification and processing of kerosene for the production of the Jet A1
  • Purification unit for gas-oil
  • The installation, storage and transmission line for the finished products
  • Control system DCS
  • Security system
